HOPELESS PERFORMANCE by our bowlers, that's all I can say after watching the Jaipur ODI. Indian team needs good bowlers now. Unfortunately, we never had A world class bowling attack in India and that is the real problem which should be addressed at the earliest by the BCCI if they too, like us, want to see India lifting the next world cup.
After assessing the overall performance, I can predict the chances of Australia lifting the next world cup remain high as they have a better bowling as well as better fielding side. After getting eight wickets, with all batsmen gone back into pavilion, our bowlers were not able to take out the wickets of the two tail-enders, who took the score to 297 and also made a 65 run partnership for the ninth wicket. The third umpire referral of a boundary saved by Sachin Tendulkar also looked doubtful to which the Umpires gave three runs, had it been a four, then the match would have tied.
I feel something serious needs to be done in order to improve the bowling department. Whether it is Ishant Sharma, Shreesant or Pravin Kumar? Have they been reduced to 'one match wonder' and it seems they are not working hard in nets. If we want to see India playing the finals of the world cup and not getting embarrasses with an early exit in their own den, then it is high time they get to work in the nets.
