Hosni Mubarak suffers another stroke, shifted to Army hospital
Egypt's former president Hosni Mubarak, 84, who is undergoing life imprisonment due to his political crimes, is reported to be on life support after suffering another heart attack in prison on Tuesday. He has been moved from Torah Prison to a Maadi military hospital in Cairo and put on life-support system, it is said.
ACCORDING TO the Egyptian ruling military council, after the stroke, Mubarak was revived by defibrillation to be put on life support. His condition has been described as ‘very critical.’
His wife, Suzanne, came to the hospital on receiving the news that Mubarak had suffered another stroke. People think that the Egyptian ruling military council is giving some preferential treatment to Mubarak.
As we know, Mubarak has been serving a life sentence at Torah Prison for his political crimes against the pro-democracy protesters during the uprising against his rule last year.
The court verdict of life imprisonment against Mubarak has led to fresh protest and people wanted him to be hanged. People are also unhappy that the court has acquitted his sons on separate corruption charges. Shifting of Mubarak to Maadi military hospital has angered the protestors and the public alike.
