Hotels rates increase ahead of London Olympics 2012
There has been an increase in hotel rates all over London between the scheduled dates for the Olympic Games, which starts from July 27 and ends on August 12. There are approximately 125,000 hotel rooms for visitors in London.

With the Olympic Games scheduled to be held in London from July 27- August 12, there would be lots of tourist that would be populating the city, as they would be eager to be a part of the mega event in London. So, hotels across London are sure to be full as bookings for the event is already underway. But, there seems to be only 125,000 hotel rooms for the visitors in London.

The Hoteliers are bound to increase their rates as they would also like to make whatever little fortune possible through their high rates. People around the world are sure that the prices are going to soar high for the Olympic Games. Those people who have thought of booking their hotel tickets early too will have to bear the high cost.

According to some local newspapers in London, 3 nights stay at the Town Hall & Apartments in Bethnal Green would be costing around £9,000, but the same place would be charging £54,000 for the same period during the games. Even lower rates hotels would be doubling their rates during the event as they also realise that the Olympics would be acting as a bumper for them.

It has been said that there might be more people who would come to London for the mega event but it might be very difficult for them to accommodate each and everyone in London. So, as it was seen during the FIFA world cup in South Africa, they used floating hotels to accommodate the extra visitors that had come to South Africa during the World Cup. London Olympics would also be witnessing the same along the River Thames, where they are planning for three cruise liners.
