How far will protests help?
It seems that human sentiments have been injected with the spark of getting up and raising their voices. Scores have been seen crowding some of the historically significant venues in Delhi demanding some concrete solution to such heinous crimes - like the recent gang-rape in Delhi.

PERHAPS THE wave of awareness began from Anna Hazare's peaceful revolution against graft and societal-reformation was incepted. Being a Delhiite, I don't remember any such incident where Delhiites have ever gathered in such large numbers for a cause. Not only this, this has become quite frequent in India nowadays that 'awaam' is coming together on streets for some social cause. Though the voices are standing firm for sometime, but the question is - how far will they? Will they continue or fade away with time?

Accelerated by angst, this peaceful revolution is spreading its wings. Not only the capital, but many states in India have come out of their confined cozy abodes demanding justice for the gang-rape victim. On one hand such protests are alarming signals for the government and such ruthless goons, on another hand undeniably the government has not come up with any solid plan of action. More than a fortnight of protests of demand for action, and the Indian government comes into play with a mere act of establishing fast track courts.

Will just setting up fast track courts for such crimes serve the purpose? The ignorant government doesn't even care when a couple of more such rape incidents took place in the heartland of the capital. While the nation is enraged by the brutal rape case, some immoral animals repeated a couple of more such inhumane activities, epitomsing no fear of law and order.

Do the state-rulers have any answer to it? While they were just busy contemplating the situation, morons repeated it twice. Doesn't it show the helplessness of the government? Of course! And it shows how spineless the state-runners are!

Can I suggest something? Of course, with the right of speech, I can. Till the time the authorities come up with some answer to it, meanwhile aam aadmi's power and rage can be united, utilized and channelised in a way that who are fearless in committing such crimes hitherto, should fear death. Examples have to be set for the good. The one-liner "Power of awaam and aam aadmi" should be brought to the fore. But the need is to get united against such unsocial elements. Because the accused have showed no remorse of engineering such a sordid act and thereafter being a reason for the infamous Delhi gangrape victim's death, something has to be done to make them realise.

For example, the way in Assam, a Congress leader was beaten badly by some angry ladies for allegedly raping a woman - the same way the general public can show the way. Legions would disagree as they could claim it as making mockery of law and order, but without exception it establishes fear in their hearts and minds that they can be punished and that too pronto.

Albeit the protests and demands for justice in such cases is imperative, they should end up only once the purpose with which they were initiated - is solved. Because we Indians have a habit of being in the rat race - following one after the other, so contrary to it the enthusiasm and anger should prove its mettle.
