How much shoppers will spend on Christmas in UK?
Adverse weather conditions and snow fall in UK has had an impact on the Christmas sales in the last few days. However, it is likely that people will rush back to make purchases and buy gifts on this Christmas notwithstanding the weather.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPERS are expected to spend as much as 1 billion pounds on shopping on Christmas eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day as per a leading UK daily. Online sales in particular will set the retail street on fire and it is likely that they will beat the 14 per cent growth witnessed last year.

If groceries and related sales are included in the expected sale than the figure could touch as high as 1.4 billion pounds during the holiday period. It is likely that there would be a huge rush of shoppers on Christmas as people leave this to the last minute.
 
There is a huge section of population, which will buy products, gifts and hampers online. In fact 16 million shoppers are expected to shop online and the spending could go in millions of pounds.
 
Retail experts said that there are lesser discounts on Christmas sales as stores are more confident about sales.
