How Narendra Modi would respond to his opponents on the suit controversy: An imagination
There is no doubt that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a unique quality of returning the barbs thrown upon him by repackaging them in his own style and branding in such a manner, that the barb thrower would repent why in the first case he had thrown such barbs.

Take the example of Mani Shankar Ayer's 'Chaiwala' barb. He repackaged it as 'Chai pe Charcha' and this brand even became international when Barack Obama uttered it. Priyanka Gandhi used the word 'Neech' barb although in a different context, but Narendra Modi immediately attacked returning same 'Neech' word by re-packaging it. There is no dearth of such examples if one goes in to details.

The controversial pinstripe monogrammed suit, which Modi's political opponents term as Rs. 10 lakh suit, which the India PM wore during the Obama's last month visit was also doing rounds for quite some days. Media and political opponents in general and Rahul Gandhi in particular threw this barb on Modi during Delhi elections. In many media debates also the suit was a matter of discussion. I was really wondering then how Modi would return this 'suit' barb to his opponents.

There were of course many clarifications that came from different sources stating that this suit is a gift to PM costing just 7000 rupees. Some critics said that being fashionable is well, but should the chief servant of a poor nation wear such a costly suit? Modi didn't respond to any of the criticisms and remain silent. I was sure that he was searching an opportune time to hit back.

That opportune time came yesterday when Modi decided to auction the various things he had received as gifts and the amounts so collected would be utilized for a national cause like cleaning of river Ganga. The controversial suit has gone under hammer and till now the value has reached Rs 1.21 crore! This is the style of Modi. Now I can guess what would be his return barbs to those critics as well as Rahul Gandhi. Read on the.

I can imagine that in a speech in future Narendra Modi may use these lines to attack his opponents on the suit controversy.

"Some people raked up a controversy on a suit gifted to me. I wore it just once, but people with small minds thought that I am desperate for a costly suit. My life is an open book. I never did anything for my personal gain. While I was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, I have received many gifts, but finally I auctioned them and the entire amount generated was given for the welfare of the employees of Gujarat assembly. Even I have donated my balance amount from my salary account. Here a suit was gifted to me. I don't know what its cost was. Some people claimed that it costed rupees ten lakh. I was really happy for such a costly suit. I was not happy because it could be my property. I was happy that such costly thing would generate more money for the service of mother India and 'Maa Ganga! They say its cost was Rs. 10 lakh. I wore it once. Now in the auction it fetched Rs 1.21 crores. That means wearing once I have done value addition of around twelve times and all the money goes to the service of Maa Ganga. Now tell me whether I am a fashion lover or at a national service. Haven't I generated twelve time funds for the country from the receipt of gifts? Have I kept anything?

How many gifts collected by family and the Congress government were converted for charity? You see my gifted suit from a negative mind but I see everything from a positive set of mind. I want to transform everything with me for the service of mother India and Maa Ganga."

I tried my best in guessing what he would say, but I am sure he would make it more attractive and pinching to his opponents. I think it's time for the critics to keep ready an answer to his possible claims else like Mani Shankar Ayer, the opponents would have to hide behind something.
