And this time small business owners are badly hit. To make your business successful, there is need to thrive, not just survive:  
  • In this hard time, you need to revise your business plan, if you have created that.  You need to calculate your sales and percentage of business down due to economic crisis.  
  • You need to identify the causes that are making your business down. You have to do it as soon as possible before it’s too late to save the business.
  • In this grim economic situation your fist motive should be to preserve your clients who have been with you for years.  You should try your best to strengthen your relationships with your clients through excellent customer service. New clients will not grow your business. Since you don’t know them as well, or their needs.
  • Most of the time it is seen that small business owners loose their confidence when something wrong happens to their business. They should understand that they have to work hard with fewer profit margins. 
  • Word of mouth is best way and absolutely free mode to market your product or service. The basic requirement is letting people know what you have to sell, where they can get it and what value it has.
  • You should look into developing networking by focusing on your existing contacts. You can monitor the interest of your contacts and cater them accordingly.
  • Before lying off your staff, you need to check your spending habits. Adopt energy saving techniques to save the unnecessary expenditure.
