How to curb aggressive behavior of a child?
Now a days aggressive and uncontrolled behavior in children is not uncommon. With advancement in technology and convenience every citizen is well equipped with latest gadgets to receive information or play at his or her will.

A child of five years sees the entire cosmos in few months of phone use and over exposure to action games affects the brain of a child in a negative way. Sudden outburst, erratic behavior, reluctance, aggressive voice or action, etc are some common symptoms of children which every parent faces.

With increasing pressure on both parents and children, parents sometime take wrong steps to curb the aggressive nature of their children.

If a child has tendency towards this kind of psychological expression, then parents have a greater role to play in developing judgment, self-discipline, socially acceptable behavior and the ability to express his/her feelings in an appropriate way.

The first key to recover from this puzzle is patience and a calm mind. Only a calm minded person can better handle his or her child. If aggression is the response to aggression from a child then this chain reaction of counter aggression will never end. So the first step is to deal with the child with compassion and love.

The second main psychological limitation is violent nature of parents. It must be understood that a child always copies his/her parents in one way or another. And any display of violent nature or abusive talks may further degenerate the innocent mind of a child. The parents have to make big changes in their nature and attitude to display just the one needed for a child.

Generally parents choose two ways to deal with the situation. The first is counter aggression to suppress the actions of a child and the second is ignoring the child completely to teach him/her a lesson. However, there is always a third way to deal with the situation and that is to speak with the child with utmost love and compassion, not just once but as many times as needed.

At young age children don't have developed ability to control themselves. The parents need to let them understand the meaning of kick, hit or bite or any other violent action and properly guide them in a manner suitable for that particular child. It is said that guidance of parents is of utmost importance during young age.

For many parents spanking or hitting is the best option to punish their child for misbehaving or causing mischief. Physical punishment reinforces the idea in young minds that such ways are correct to handle people. One has to understand that physical punishment is stimulus to aggressive behaviour of a child.

To deal with children is a delicate issue as it sets the future course of that child's psychological development, so parents have to be more attentive, careful and involved to face this challenge.

Remember, children tend to copy the habits, behaviour and style of their parents. If parents are reasonable in their behaviour and habits the child would probably follow their example.
