The water supply project for New Gurgaon, which was kicked off by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), completed on Thursday. The water supply line stretching from Basai Water Plant to Sector-51 Boosting Station will supply water to areas such as DLF Phase V and several sectors located after Sector-43 .
The 15km pipeline comes as a relief for the residents of New Gurgaon, since plethora of colonies were not connected to HUDA water pipelines earlier. Approximately, five lakh people will be benefited by the completion of the project.
“The technical aspects of the project are flawless and we will flag- off the project to the new sectors, once we are done with the trials”, said a HUDA Official as reported by ToI.
The trials will throw light on how much water will be released by the authorities and how the fixtures handle the water rush. The treating capacity of the Basai Water Plant is 60MGD (millions gallons daily), however the current water supply of the plant is 43MGD.
“The new pipeline will further affect few parts of Old Gurgaon when the new pipeline will be used to its highest capacity. Although, our focal point is the overall development of the city”, said another HUDA Official.
