Hugh Grant maintains Hollywood trend of actors becoming dad after 50

Known as commitment phobic, Hugh Grant has finally become a dad. He has maintained the trend of older dads in Hollywood.

ENTERTAINERS AND people in the show business have to struggle to make a life if they are not born with a surname or a golden spoon. This applies a great deal in Bollywood but in Hollywood every star has to struggle in their initial days, even if they have a big surname as Douglas. However, in order to make a place for themselves in Hollywood, these actors lose out on their youth. They marry and have kids quite late in life. For them the 50s is the time to have children and settle down. A number of examples can be cited of these Hollywood dads but the latest in the rank is Hugh Grant who recently had a baby girl.

The actor who mesmerised every women’s heart (young or old) in Notting Hills actually resembles his character of ‘Bridget Jones Diary,’ in real life. Known to have many high profile affairs, the actor is yet to marry. However, Hugh Grant, who is now 51 had a brief affair with the mother of the child, Tinglan Hong, who is 19 years his junior. Although they are not in a relationship at the moment and nor was the pregnancy planned, but things are very amiable between everyone and Hugh Grant is happy, or so was reported. This detail is hard to digest as the actor went to a golfing tournament after spending around half an hour with the mother and the child. Both the actor and Miss Hong started dating in January and soon after the pregnancy they went their separate ways. The Chinese lady is an actress and lives in Merton, south London, but recently she has moved close to Hugh Grant’s £3million home in Fulham, South-West London. The birth of the child remains unregistered and according to legality they would have to do it before next Monday.

Very recently Bruce Wills, in his fifties, also announced that he is to become dad early next year, for the fourth time, with his new wife Emma Heming. Michael Douglas also became father when he was in his fifties and so did Tom Cruise. Thus it is a trend that has happened over the years that actors settle and have a baby after their 50 birthday.
