Dr B K Singh, Prof and Head, Department of Production engineering presented vote of thanks. He became emotional while expressing thanks to the people and participants who made this program a grand success. . He thanked VC, BIT Mesra for their help and cooperation. He also thanked the organising committee members, experts and student volunteers who worked tirelessly and made this program successful.
Overwhelming participations across the length and breadth of the country made this program a national . This one week program was organized by Department of Production Engineering, BIT Mesra and sponsored by TEQUIP-II. TEQUIP –II is aimed at improvement of post graduate and research studies. It is a World Bank assisted program of Government of India running with the help of respective state governments.
Production Engineering Department of BIT Mesra is one of the best institute in India offering UG, PG, Ph. D programs. It has created benchmark in the field of production and manufacturing studies since its inception in 1964. BIT Mesra is a name synonymous with world class technical education and its production department always taken its name ahead in quality technical education. Artificial intelligence is the computational ability to make machines behave like human brain i.e. to make machine learn from experience and make inference i.e., inculcating decision making ability in machines.
There were sixty eight participants including Research scholars and faculty members from industry and academia like NITs, ISM Dhanbad, Mecon, BIT Mesra to name a few. In the first day of the course, Dr L N Pattnaik of BIT Mesra gave keynote lecture on soft computing vs hard computing and its application to different field. soft computing methods are inspired by the human brain which present effective methods for the solution of even difficult inverse problems. Whereas hard computing methods are predominantly based on mathematical approaches and therefore demand a high degree of precision and accuracy in their requirements. But, in most engineering problems the input parameters can’t be determined with a high degree of precision, which curtails it use.
<>Experts from NIT Allahabad, ISM Dhanbad, Dayalbagh Institute Agra, Tata steel and BIT Mesra made this event excellent and relevant to the current industry needs and further research. Dr. Vijay Pandey, Dr S C Srivastava and Dr Rajeev Agrawal were at the core in organising this program.
