We all know how a small time doctor made million of bucks in recent Kidney Scam and we all read in various news papers that Human Organ Transplant law would be enacted but when was not clear.

But the findings which came to light through an RTI filed in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to check status of Human Organ Transplant Law came as a shock.


The findings are :


Delhi High Court committee submitted it report to the Union Health ministry after conducting 12 meeting in short time-span of eight months. The report was submitted on May 25, 2005.


Today, it is more than 1100 days (three years) since it was submitted to Union Health ministry and to one’s shock and surprise the busy Health minister only attended one meeting on the same matter. More shocking is the fact that the Health ministry conducted only one meeting on the same.


The ministry blamed some senior lawyer of Delhi High Court for the delay in implementation.


Now, ministry claim that they will soon send the draft to various states government and ministries to get their views and than it shall be presented in Parliament for final formalities. The Health minister has only 300 days to table the Bill on the floor of the house.
