Siberia is the worst hit by the cold conditions, and it is said that thousands of villagers have been trapped by heavy snow mounds and become homeless.

In Serbia, relief efforts are on for food supply, evacuating the sick and special supply of gasoline to keep homes warm and cooking.

Similarly, lots of villages in Bosnia have had no electricity for the last few days and government is trying hard to resume the power supply but the work is sluggish as power workers are not equipped to overcome this calamity.
