HVPN to build 10 new power stations in Gurgaon
Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) is preparing its master plan to distribute power to the newly built HUDA sectors 58 to 115. According to the estimates of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), 4237 MW power is required to these new sectors every month.

HUDA has already allotted land for building the 10 substations from where the power will be supplied to the new sectors.

Rajesh Gupta, HVPN superintending engineer, as reported by TOI, has said, “33kV lines will be used to distribute power with the help of 220/33/0.4 kV transformer instead of 11kV line with a 220/66/11 kV transformer used earlier. Three times more load can be supplied through 33kV lines.”

It is also said that, the new substations will be gas insulation-based GIS substations with underground lines, which will occupy very less space. These new substations with 33kV lines will increase the existing transmission capacity of 2000 MVA by another 1200 MVA.

Originally the proposal was made to build 37 substations, but HUDA has allotted the land for only 10 substations. It may allot the land for remaining substations in the future.

The new substations are reportedly being built at sectors 59, 65, 67, 77, 78, 85, 87, 91, 94 and 95 and each substation will cost 30 crores. The construction of the new substation will start in the next month. This master plan has been prepared with an estimate power demand till 2025.
