Hyderabad-based Osmania University to host International Conference On 'Quality Teacher Education Vis- A-Vis School Education'
Department of Education, University College Of Education (IASE), Osmania University, Hyderabad is going to organize a two-day International Conference on "Quality Teacher Education vis a vis School Education" on January 24 and 25, 2019.

"Right of children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 and fundamentals enshrined in the Constitution of India form the basis for 'National Curricular Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE, 2009)... World Development Report-2018 states that in many countries and communities learning is not happening in schools. Schooling without Learning is a terrible waste of precious resources of human potential," laments the concept note of the conference while stressing the need for quality education.

The conference organizers hold that the present learning crisis is a moral crisis. "When delivered well, education cures a host of societal ills, but the benefits depend largely on learning. Schooling without learning is a great injustice. When improving learning becomes a priority, great progress happens. Change is possible only when systems commit to learning for all," it is being felt.

In the light of forgoing concerns, the present conference has been scheduled with motive to explore the strategies to enhance the humane aspects of teachers and teacher educators. Accordingly, various sub- themes of the Conference are such as  Quality Indicators for Teacher Education; Strengthening Teacher Learner Interaction; Innovations in Pedagogy; Learning Challenges; Linkages with School Education; and Happiness @Learning.
