Hyderabad Test: India register comprehensive win, but Bangladeshis also deserve praise for their spirited performance
Virat Kohli-led team India registered its successive sixth test series victory, which started from India's tour of Sri Lanka in 2015. India, the number one test side performed clinically to defeat an emerging Bangladesh team by 208 runs on the 5th day of the lone test match at Hyderabad.

The current Indian team is perhaps the most balanced team in the history of Indian cricket. There's a perfect balance in batting, bowling and fielding. This win will definitely boost team India's moral for the upcoming home series against mighty Australia.

Bangladesh too should be given due credit for their fighting spirit. India is traditionally strong at home. Despite that Bangladesh was able to stretch the match to the fifth day with some spirited performances.

India won the toss and elected to bat first. Had Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat, the test match would have been very thrilling as the guests have got a fine batting line.

It performed spiritedly under the pressure of India's mammoth 687 runs and yet scored 388 with the help of Captain Mushfiqur Rahim's century and half centuries by Shakib Al Hasan and Mehedi Hasan Miraz. In the second innings also Bangladeshi batsman Mahmudullah managed to score a fighting half century.

Point is, Bangladesh shouldn't be considered a miniature test playing cricket team. They deserve more tests in a series frequently. If test cricket is to remain enthralling, the new power houses must be promoted. I don't think just one match against test playing nations would do any good to uplift teams like Bangladesh. They should get at least three test matches against all the top test playing nations. ICC should think in this direction.

India is traditionally a strong team at home and most of the top test playing nations find it difficult to play in India. Yes that's true, but we need to asses Virat Kohli's test wins differently. The present Indian team is although playing in India, but the pitches are not under prepared where spinners turn their deliveries 90 degree while getting benefit from the pitches (roughs).

It's good that BCCI is displaying guts and preparing good pitches on which test matches are lasting for five days. Many test matches played in 2016-2017 stretched to the fifth day while some finished in last session of the 4th day. I think that's commendable as none can attribute Indian wins to the typical spinning pitches (those which break wide on second day itself) any more. This will also boost morale of the Indian cricketers during foreign tours in times to come.

Though there is some problem in opening slot, but one should hope that it would be resolved during the upcoming Australian tour. The team is in form. Just imagine, even after scoring a triple century batsman Karun Nair is not able to make into final eleven.

Let's hope team India perform brilliantly in 2017 also when Australia will be touring India.
