NATIONAL-AWARD winning filmmaker Rahul Dholakia has co- scripted as also directed Lamhaa, a film which took four years to complete. Entire liberal-media brigade will soon go to town tom-toming the `painstaking research’ which led to creation of this `timeless masterpiece’ of `contemporary cinema’ which will expose true face of `violent and communal Indian `society’.
After all Mr Rahul claims, “Dealing with sensitive matters takes time. One can’t make a superficial film that shies away from real issues,” Apparently the writer-director would not compromise on truth! I also thought so till I read this statement of his, `d(D)uring one outdoor shoot, a mob of angry locals surrounded the crew, objecting to certain depictions of Kashmir. “We had to expose the reel and re-shoot the scene to respect their feelings,” he remarks. So much for objectivity and truth! Take your pick please.
