Mr Shekhar: I welcome this decision by the court. This is a big relief to me, and my family. I see it as a step forward towards the justice for me.
CJ: Why do you think ND Tiwari filed that appeal?
Mr Shekhar: He (ND Tiwari) filed that appeal with a motive to delay the justice. He wanted to harass me, and my family in a bigger way. He was scared of the results of the DNA reports. I want to say that by doing so he was only mocking the judiciary. I want to add here that he is not a follower of Gandhian philosophy as his acts are against it. His advocates are are trying their best to malign my image by accusing me that I am doing conspiracy against Mr. Tiwari for publicity stunt. They also accused me of blackmailing Mr. Tiwari. His advocates are giving a political color to this matter while falsely claiming that I have backing of any political party.
CJ: What would have been your next step if the court had accepted ND Tiwari's appeal?CJ: Are you sure that the findings of the DNA report will be in your favor?
Mr Shekhar: Yes, I am confident that the report will be in my favor. It has been prepared under the supervision of honorable Supreme Court, so I am sure there wouldn't be any tempering.CJ: Did you ever meet Congress leaders in your quest to seek justice?
CJ: How do you see the role of the various women organizations in the country? Did they help you or your mother anyhow?
Mr Shekhar: I am disappointed that women organizations like National Commission for Women or Indian Democratic Women Association never gave any support to my 68-year-old mother.
