The film shows that Imran Khan who is not a perfect guy works with a production company who is into making of love stories based movies.

IN THIS movie the main protagonist does not believe in love. Hence the title of the movie ‘I hate luv storys’. He does like girls but do not believe in falling in love with any of them, till he finds a girl with whom he falls in love. Here the protagonist is Imran Khan and the girl is Sonam Kapoor. The film shows that Imran Khan who is not a perfect guy works with a production company who is into making of love stories based movies. Sonam Kapoor who is into a relationship with perfect guy also happens to join the same production house where Imran Khan works. Sonam plays the character of Simran and Imraan is ‘Jay’. Simran finds that her boyfriend does not add any spice to her life while Jay, the not so perfect is full of life. However Jay do not believe in love but he ultimately does. One might say same old story.

The first half of the movie is very interesting; it keeps up your interest. Imran plays is role very nicely. Imraan is good actor , his drawback is seen only when he tries to be emotional. In emotional scenes he do not appear to be serious enough. But he can improve and can come up to top slot of actors like his mamu Aamir Khan. Sonam is ok. Sonam does look fresh in some scene but overall one finds something missing in her that is the wow factor. Some how, I feel that she was not made out for the role of Simran. She is a talented actor, but she should choose roles suited to her personality.

The music by Vishal-Shekar is excellent. The background score by Salim-Suleman is also very good. In the second half of the movie the story begans to slow down and becomes more predictive. The film is worth watching at least once, also for the reason that for the movie buffs this is the only new movie during the week. The director Punit Malhotra has done a fairly nice job considering that this is his debut film. A TV actor Aamir Ali gets a chance to act in this big banner movie. Aamir Ali does a role of movie superstar. He has done reasonably ok job with a heavy make up. Good to know that TV actors are getting space in movies. Manish Malhotra is the Dress designer for the movie but hardly any good stuff either on Imran or Sonam. Imran is seen more in checkered shirts or T-shirts with jeans and Sonam nothing worth mentioning. So if you love, love stories go and watch ‘I hate luv storys’, no dishum, dishum in it.
