When asked what made him want to become an actor, he said it was both passion and recognition together that made him inclined towards acting, and he soon moved to Mumbai, the hub of acting, to pursue his dreams.

The actor and comedian, who admits that there wasn't a particular vision in his ambition to become asn actor, said that he considered his struggle in Mumbai as a journey. “I never called it struggle. It was a journey from where I am to where I wanna be. Things just followed,” he told merinews. This Gurgaon local boy has played many important roles in films such as Dasvidaniya, Mp3, and Neil N Nikky, and entertained us in many TV shows as a comedian.

Gaurav Gera is no stranger to musicals and musical drama. “Yes, I was part of musicals many years back - Fame, West Side Story and Man of La Mawcha are few musicals I did in Mumbai and Delhi. Musicals are dance dramas, all lively action and its great fun. Direct audience interaction is great too”.

Gera is in Gurgaon to be part of an upcoming musical dance drama Jhumroo, which is set to take place in Kingdom of Dreams and is scheduled to be unveiled on April 7. The show will intersperse through 19 super hit songs of the Legend Kishore Kumar, and Gaurav is doing a lead in giving tribute to Kishore Da. He shared his feeling for Kishore Da saying, “The feeling is great and this chance to play this character is a ‘dream come true’. I am a huge Kishore Kumar fan. Kishore da is very close to my heart and this musical gives us a chance to pay our tribute to the master. I am sure that the audience will love this musical and I hope that they will appreciate our performance”.

In Jhumroo, Gaurav is playing a character of a 25-year-old innocent boy Bhola, who always wanted to be a singer but cannot sing well. He also falls in love with a girl Meena, which will be played by Shweta Gulati, and the story will involve a few twists till he reaches the finals of a singing talent show.

When asked about his future plans he told merinews, “Now, I have come back to theatre after many years. As of now Jhumroo is priority and I will be doing more TV and films once I am free from Kingdom of Dreams.” About his projects in pipeline he said, “There is a weekly TV show which will be starting in a couple of months but as of now priority remains Jhumroo.”
