This seminar was organized in Hong Kong by 'Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), Hong Kong' for 'India Against Corruption' movement and its volunteer. Its important to note that IAC movement in India is highly inspired by ICAC, Hong Kong's success, and this session was aimed at strengthening the hands of the movement.
VOLUNTEERS FROM ‘IndiaAgainst Corruption – Hong Kong’ gathered together, to understand the success story of Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), Hong Kong, and to know how it eradicated the disease of corruption, which has plagued India for a long time now.

To keep the fire burning among key volunteers, right before Winter Session of Parliament in India (when the most awaited anti-corruption bill - Jan Lokpal Bill is going to be tabled in Parliament), a seminar on “ICAC Hong Kong – Best Practices & 3 Pronged Strategy” was organized by Hong Kong chapter of ‘India Against Corruption’, which was focused on clearing the doubts, answering questions of general audience, and inform/educate them about “Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC)” (a strong and world’s one of the most successful anti-corruption agencies). This seminar was to help IAC Hong Kong’s active volunteer’s team to work as Information Gateway for others, to help them believe corruption is disease that can be treated well, and helping others understand ICAC’s experiences in combating corruption in Hong Kong.
This informative and interesting ‘Knowledge Sharing Session’ was conducted by Chales NG Hon-cheong (Senior Community Relations Office – ICAC, Hong Kong) and Ms LAW Hoi-ying, Jill (Community Relations Office – ICAC, Hong Kong). The seminar started with an introduction on the history and work of the ICAC, and background for setting up of the ICAC. ICAC's Senior Officer Mr Charles, then elaborated about the famous "Three-pronged attack" on corruption with a detailed explanation of how the Operations department work to eradicate the corruption, and how the other two wings of ICAC work all togethre to achive of objective a Corruption Free Society.
Charles also mentioned the achievements and challenges of ICAC, along with recent corruption trends in Hong Kong. The talk was concluded with anti-corruption legislations in Hong Kong (with illustrative cases in public & private sectors) and a Question & Answer session. There were 35 IAC Hong Kong Volunteers were present during this seminar who took the pledge to act as torch bearers to share their knowledge with others.
