ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Team: Shocking but true - There's no Indian player in the team
Well, this appears to be very shocking news for the millions of the Indian fans across the globe that the ICC has not included any Indian cricketer in their 2015 World Cup team. Brendon McCullum of New Zealand will lead the side which includes five New Zealanders.

McCullum was selected as the captain on account of his dashing, innovative and inspirational leadership throughout this very popular 44-day tournament. He had played a pivotal role leading his team to the final where they lost to Australia by seven wickets. His contribution of vital 328 runs (with a splendid strike-rate of 188.50.) is quite visible.

The team was shorted listed by the undernoted who preferred picking a balanced side on the basis of performances in the tournament.

The panel included: Geoff Allardice (ICC General Manager - Cricket), Andrew Alderson (Journalist, New Zealand Herald), Harsha Bhogle (Broadcaster), Richard Kettleborough (Member of Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and ICC Umpire of the Year 2014), Chloe Saltau (Journalist, The Age) and Michael Vaughan (Former England captain and broadcaster).

Here is the team of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in batting order:

Brendon McCullum (New Zealand) (captain)

Martin Guptill (New Zealand)

Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) (wicketkeeper)

Steven Smith (Australia)

AB de Villiers (South Africa)

Glenn Maxwell (Australia)

Corey Anderson (New Zealand)

Daniel Vettori (New Zealand)

Mitchell Starc (Australia)

Trent Boult (New Zealand)

Morne Morkel (South Africa)

Brendan Taylor (Zimbabwe) (12th man)

It has become a matter of concern that no Indian has been given a place in the team of the tournament. There were many Indian players like Dhawan and Shami who could have been included in the team.
