THE INTERNATIONAL Cricket Council (ICC) has dropped tainted Pakistani fast bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir from the ICC's award list. The ICC Awards ceremony will take place in Bangalore on October 6. Mohammad Asif was nominated for the test player of the year award while Mohammad Amir was nominated in the emerging player of the year category.

An ICC spokesman confirmed without giving further details that "The pair's nominations have been withdrawn and the jury has been informed."

Mohammad Asif and 18-year-old left arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir, as well as Pakistan Test captain Salman Butt have been charged with "various offenses" under anti-corruption code of ICC following allegations of 'spot-fixing' in the fourth Test against England at Lord's last week. England won the test by an inning and 225 runs.

Pakistan's young fast bowler Mohammad Amir took 33 wickets at an average of 31.45 in nine Tests and 16 wickets in 10 ODIs during the period between August 24, 2009 and August 10, 2010. In the Lord's Test he picked his 50th test wicket.
