ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
ICC ODI rankings: Virat Kohli in top 5, Dhoni at 10th
Ever since the beginning of the World Cup 2015, a lot of changes have taken place in the Reliance ICC ODI Player Rankings, after conclusion of 23 thrilling pool stage matches in the most thrilling event currently being held in Australia and New Zealand.

Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara has already become the leading run-getter so far in this most popular cricketing event with 268 runs, and this is very clearly visible in the latest Reliance ICC Player Rankings for ODI batsmen. The 37 year old left-handed batsman who has been the backbone of his team, has now accumulated 849 rating points, equivalent to South Africa's Hashim Amla. Owing to this, Virat Kohli has fallen down to the No.4 position in the rankings.

The current batting table is topped by South Africa captain AB de Villiers, who is now ahead of Sangakkara and Amla by 49 rating points. Another sensational batting star De Villiers, with 217 runs, is standing at sixth spot in the list of leading run-getters in the tournament to date. It is noteworthy that he is just two rating points short of becoming only the 11th batsman to break the 900-point barrier (since the introduction of the current ODI player rankings mechanism).

West Indies' popular rock star Chris Gayle - with 258 runs - is running second on the list of top run-scorers for which he has been rewarded with a promotion of five places. This, in turn, has put him in 52nd place along with Afghanistan's Samiullah Shenwari, who has been elevated by 12 places, due to his recent sensational performance.

Among the others, New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum and South Africa's David Miller are the biggest beneficiaries in the latest rankings, which were released on Monday.

McCullum, due to his contribution, has got a jump of 10 places to 18th spot now, following his 207 runs in four matches to date whereas Miller has also gained up 14 places to 23rd as his three recent impressive innings have resulted in 180 runs to date.
