Three out of the four semi-finalists for the T20 World Cup have been confirmed while one remaining spot is set to be decided when West Indies play Pakistan tonight. The victorious team will be placed second in the group, where India has already topped the group.
In Chris Gayle
, West Indies have one of the most feared batsman in world
cricket. When the lanky well built left hander gets going, there is no bowler in world
cricket, who can stop the run flow. Apart from Gayle, they have a decent batting line up, which includes Dwayne Smith, Bravo, Marlon Samuels
– enough fire power to oust Pakistan from ICC T20 World
Cup in Bangladesh.
But, it is their bowlers, who might let them down, as they do not have a quality bowler, (barring Narine), who could run through the Pakistan team. Pakistan might take advantage of this opportunity as they possess quality batsmen such as Afridi, Hafeez along with Akmal brothers.
But, the match seems to be a fight between the Pakistani bowlers and the West Indian batsmen. In Saeed Ajmal, they have a quality spinner. In Umar Gul, they have a bowler with tremendous experience in the shorter format of the game. Afridi and Hafeez are great support bowlers for Pakistan. If these bowlers do not get their act together, Pakistan would be in for a long night.
But, when one talks about T20 matches, it is the team, which performs better on the day, which counts, hence, both teams have equal chance of progressing into the next round of the competition.
