ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
ICC World Cup: Australians look favourite, but team India's bowling, batting and fielding can give them shock of their lives
On paper, Australia is the favorite team in this World Cup especially under Australian conditions. It has the best pace battery in his side. The depth of batting extends to number 10, fielding never a concern for this team. Thus one easily sees Australia as a favourite team to enter the final. However there are some grey areas too.

This Australian team lacks a quality spin bowler whereas it's said that Sydney's pitch may help spinners. Captain Michael Clark is out of form and that has affected his captainship too. The professionalism in Australian cricket has till now covered Clark's poor captainship but questions will be asked particularly in such a crucial match.

On the other hand India is playing some brilliant cricket in this world cup. India's weakness was the bowling. But in this world cup, Indian bowlers in fact won the matches for India. Indian fielding at the moment is no less than Australia's.

India is in Australia for the last three months and fully aware of Australian conditions. Thus Australia's advantage of playing in home condition becomes void.

If you closely scrutinize India's match against Australia in recent triangular series, you will find that Indian batsmen did well in those matches where as Indian bowlers failed. But with Indian bowler now coming up to (I think even beyond) expectation, India is now placed at par with Australia.

Thus the second semi-final will also be closely fought and both teams have equal chances of winning the match. As an Indian supporter I wish India to win the match, but if Australia wins I wouldn't be saddened as better team of the day deserves to win.

Let's wish best of luck to 'Men in Blue'.
