This is supposed to be an attempt by Idea to keep up with other telecom services providers like Airtel and Vodafone, who have hitched on to Apple’s iPhone. Idea’s partnership with Nokia includes its other mid- and high-end range in addition to the N series. Idea plans to introduce several attractive offers and innovative tariff plans, on various Nokia devices, starting with the N96. It will allow the company to connect both pre-paid and post-paid subscribers to data services and charge them according to the value of traffic and content. That will make Idea India’s first and only operator to charge differently for data services, thereby increasing its revenue streams.
