International Institute of Financial Markets (IIFM), Delhi has established a MOU with University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun on March 16, 2010. Through this MOU, IIFM will setup an energy and commodity trading lab at UPES.
INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE of Financial Markets (IIFM), Delhi has established a MOU with University of Petroleum & Energy Studies on March 16, 2010. It is a first of its kind arrangement, where IIFM (through its institutional cell) is setting up a financial and commodity trading lab within another institute.

Through this MOU, IIFM will setup energy and commodity trading lab at UPES which will enable students to trade in energy products with virtual money. There would be counseling centre setup at UPES campus for external students to enhance quality financial education to the masses.

Elaborating on the MOU, Pranav Chaturvedi, Director IIFM said, “UPES and IIFM have been pioneers in this relatively new field of financial education. We both seek to provide the best industry based education to our prospective students. IIFM gives all the credit to UPES for sharing its vision of bridging the skill gap between academic institutions and the industry. It is indeed a momentous occasion and IIFM is quite sure that this MOU would act as a catalyst for other such tie ups, which would benefit not only the students but also the financial industry at large”.

On this occasion, Dr. Parag Diwan, Vice Chancellor at UPES said, “We are delighted to have this MOU with IIFM as this will enable us to have on campus a simulated energy trading platform. This state of art lab will provide distinct edge to our MBA (Energy Trading) students as they will have hands-on experience in real world of trading. IIFM will also benefit from association with a specialist university like UPES and will strengthen their curriculum."

IIFM would also provide market research on energy products, which will enable the students to forecast the trends of the market and be job fit. This MOU will help sharing of resources between these two institutes for the overall development of the financial education industry.
