Under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Bandipora Shamsher Hussain, a police team seized 1200 tablets, capsules, and 60 bottles of Codin from a residential house of Shahid Mustafa khan S/O Ghulam Hassan Khan of Mangnipora.
The accused has been arrested and police has registered a F.I.R under section 60/10 US/ 48 of Excise Act and 5/13 Drug control ordinance and an investigation has been initiated. “The seized drugs, which were suspected to be sold to drug addicts in violation of the law, will be produced in a court to obtain possession and the defaulting persons be proceeded under provisions of the drugs and other relevant laws” said an officer.
It is here pertinent to mention that in seven raids against the illegal drugs trade police in Bandipora has arrested two persons and seized a large cache of illegal drugs during different raids in a year. Additional Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Shamsher Hussain said “we have started a campaign against the illegal sale of drugs in Bandipora and Sopore we hope that in the coming few days more arrests will be made in this regard." The ASP appealed to the public to support the police in eradicating this evil from society.
