Illegal swimming pools in Gurgaon soon to be shut: District Administration
All swimming pools in the city, lacking requisite permissions should be closed immediately as ordered by the district administration on Thursday, failing to which they would face legal action.
He also said that several
hotels, housing societies, educational institutions, firms and
resorts had swimming pools on their premises without a valid licence.
The order came when a couple of days after two children drowned in a
pool in a school on Sohna Road.
Sudhir Kapoor, President
of DLF City RWA told timesofindia, said “All the pools in DLF are
run only after necessary permissions. The approvals are taken without
fail.”While authorities claim to have all the necessary permissions
of the pools being run in the clubs, Rohit Malik, director (estate)
of DLF Limited says “We can't run the pools without necessary
permissions.” Even the school authorities are ignorant of the
Sarvesh Naidu, director of
Pathways World School commented “ We already adhere to all the
rules of administration. We have one lifeguard and two coaches. And
we keep the pool locked and open it only under adults' supervision.”
Dhriti Malhotra, principal of Manav Rachna International School in
Sector 46, said that no institution would want an accident to happen
on its premises and most places have the permissions in place. "We
