In a welcome move Central Information Commission to get new website
It refers to welcome initiative of new Chief Information Commissioner wherein Central Information Commission (CIC) has to get its new website for internal working after a decade.
Portal for internal management should induce a system whereby all details of a petitioner may be auto-filled by just putting his/her mobile-number with an option to correct auto-filled data manually in case of change.

System presently prevailing for issue of entry-passes in many government buildings will make data-entry process fast and ensure correct spellings of petitioners in CIC data-base. Presently due to wrong entry of spelling of petitioner's name, he/she cannot see a consolidated correct data-base of his/her petitions at CIC-website.

Field 'compliance-report' can be effective only if it is made mandatory for all Commissioners to fix a date for compliance in the original verdict like is being done presently by one of the Commissioners. System will avoid filing of non-compliance petitions also adding to CIC-workload because of a High Court ruling to register a fresh non-compliance petitions with a new registration-number requiring fresh hearing in the matter.

Home page of CIC-website should be small so that scrolling may not be required. Background photo can be there with fields visible on the background photo. Website should incorporate all Supreme Court and High Court verdicts on CIC-verdicts and other RTI matters preferably according to subject-matter.

Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) should be requested to annually compile all its circulars on RTI like was done in the year 2013, and CIC-website may contain such a compilation. All fields in website and internal portal should get auto-updated with every activity. Cause-list should be auto-generated with internal features incorporated like according to public-authority/petitioner, priority etc with an option for manual interference in case of need. Fields not updated earlier like 'Success Stories' etc should only be incorporated if update is ensured.

'Feedback' incorporate suggestions, grievances etc with provision to give registration-number, and sending follow-up action through e-mail rather than only through e-mail/SMS alert requiring to visit website to see response. Move may largely reduce number of RTI petitions filed at CIC in its capacity as a public-authority.
