Google may have come up with this data mentioned above, but how would they able to justify that the person using the internet was an Indian or a Pakistani, as IP addresses have been used by Google trends to get the acquired information from the server logs, reports PTI. It may also happen that a tourist from some other country have come to India and may have Google searched it. There are more than 1 lakh tourists that primarily come to India each year.
As far as the accuracy of the Google analysis is concerned, Google trends say, “The data Trends produces may contain inaccuracies for a number of reasons, including data-sampling issues and a variety of approximations that are used to compute results. We hope you find this service interesting and entertaining, but you probably wouldn't want to write your PhD dissertation based on the information provided by Trends," as reported PTI.
India has not topped the chart in the countries list, but there was a strong possibility for India, as it is one of the most populous countries in the world. If we look at the number of Internet users across the world, India stands 3rd in the list, with 100,000,000 people using Internet as per the figures published on June 30, 2011 (Source : Internet World Stats). Pakistan does not find any mention in the list of top 20 internet users.
