The issue of land acquisition and alleged shady land deals of Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi in Gurgaon was raised by Narender Modi and Arvind Kejriwal during campaigning. Again the reservation to Jats by Haryana and Union Govt. had divided the electorate among Jats and non-Jats while Jats supporting Congress candidates and non-Jats supporting BJP and Janhit Congress of Kuldeep Bishnoi's candidates.
With Om Prakash Choutala, former chief minister and his son Ajay Chotala in jail for their role in teachers recruitment scam, the campaigning on behalf of Indian National Lokdal was done by Abhay Choutala, younger son of Om Prakash Choutala. Punjab chief minister Prakash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Badal also campaigned for them.

Shalu Jindal, wife of noted industrialist, Naveen Jindal, the Congress candidate from Kurukshetra accompanied by film star Raveena Tandon sought votes for Naveen Jindal.
