In Haryana, it seems caste and relationship with CM is only merit for recruitment on key posts
Charity begins at home. This old proverb holds true with Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda for whom it seems the sole criteria for appointments on constitutional and other key posts having direct public dealings is caste, family and personal loyalty. Latest example is appointment of Premvir as member of staff selection commission.
Premvir, a distant relative of Hooda was earlier appointed as
State Information Commissioner. After taking over as chief minister,
Hooda has appointed Nand Lal Punia, again a close relative to him, as
chairman of staff selection commission. He was given extension after
extension even amending the act.
Later he was appointed as Chairman of School Teachers Selection
Board. Vijay Chug, presently chairman of staff selection commission
was earlier appointed member and given extension and ultimately made
Chairman. List of favorites is endless.
Highly placed sources
told this citizen journalist that last week Premvir and
other close confidant of Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Rohtak belonging
to Dalit community had met him. Hooda had assured them that both
will be accommodated in Staff Selection Commission. But the Dalit
supporter was ignored and relations worked.
Earlier the Dalit supporter was tipped for appointment in H.P.S.C
and Chairman of Police Recruitment Board. Hooda has also appointed
one of his relative as secretary of Red Cross of a district without
J.S. Ahlawat again a close relative, was first promoted form H.C.S
to I.A.S and then made member of Human Rights Commission. R.P. Hooda
belonging to Hooda's Gotra was appointed V-C of Kurukshetra
University and then shifted to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak
and given extension after amending rules.
