In Haryana Jats observe black day on Sunday
The police have put in tight security as Jats in Haryana are observing 'Black Day' today.

Traffic has been diverted from sensitive districts and police posts have been set up to avoid any disruption in law & order. Traffic has also been diverted on NH 71-A with the police suggesting alternative routes between Rohtak and Panipat.

The Jat agitation for reservation has been going on for nearly a month with huge gatherings in many places including Rohtak, Sonepat, Jhajjar and Bhiwani districts.

Police posts have been set up on all roads leading to Rohtak town to prevent the entry of protesters. The state police are also being assisted by paramilitary forces to maintain law & order in the state.

In protest, the Jat community members wore black attires, turbans, caps, ribbons and arm bands to protest against the state government not accepting their demands. The Jats are demanding reservation in education and government jobs under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. They have also demanded the release of those jailed during last year's agitation and that the cases filed against them be withdrawn.

The state authorities have also suspended internet services at some sensitive places including Rohtak and Sonipat.

Sonipat District Magistrate K Makarand Pandurang had issued orders to impose ban on all internet services under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The ban will be in effect for 24 hours from 5 pm on Saturday till 5 pm today.
