In love Vs work, love loses, celebrity marriages show
Work is one of the reasons why celebrities and people in general part ways in the urban society. In the war between work and love, it is work that wins.

WORK PRESSURE and a highly successful partner, who cannot give time to his family because of busy schedule are some of the urban reasons for divorce. Many try to find a way out of it while there are some who succumb to the pressures and try and break free - something believed to have happened between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

According to Zee News, Holmes was tired of her high profile husband, who was always working and busy with his work schedule. Although, Scientology is also being cornered after their divorce news, yet as more and more news comes to the fore, it is seen that Holmes was a very lonely woman, whose career was nipped at the bud by a controlling husband and it was time that she snapped the connections.

A busy controlling husband, busy with his work and a lonely wife or a spouse jealous of his/ her partner's success and finally divorce coming in the picture, is a common problem in our society where both women and men are working, many times in the same profession. Celebrities or people in the spotlight are often plagued with this problem and there are a number of examples of couples apart from Holmes and Cruise who have parted ways because of their professional lives.

Very recently and just before Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, it was Johnny Depp and Venessa Paradis who called it over. However, in Johnny's case, it was Paradis, who was insecure of the success that her ex-husdand was gaining due to his Pirates films. There was a time in their life when Depp wanted to do character films but it was Paradis who was not happy with that and so he changed his line of work. However, it seems that the ex-wife was not happy with the fact that Depp became more popular than she was as a singer and actor. After the initially rows, both went their separate ways.

With the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown it was a dark story of love, infidelity, drugs and spouse jealousy. While Houston was quoted as to posses 'the voice' that did not go well with Bobby Brown. While he never admitted the fact yet the way Houston talked in interviews, it was clearly a passionate affair with a sad ending. She was the popular one in the relationship and so had to bear the brunt of Brown's rage and anger. When the singer could not take it anymore, she went on her own path.

Imran Khan and Jemima Khan had a completely different story yet their married life came to an end when he decided to join politics. With politics came, a different kind of pressure, which the cricketers first wife could not handle came with it and she called it quits.

If we look at our own Bollywood Industry, we would find many such examples, although they don't admit it openly. When Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh parted ways everyone was appalled. They were the true picture of a fairytale but who knew that Khan who was introduced to various filmmakers by his wife actually resented that kind of equation in his personal relationship. The fact that he was taught the tricks of the trade by his wife, might have been one of the deciding factors in the end of their relationship.

Thus when people lament why so many divorces happen these days, they must look at this as an emerging, but a disturbing trend. Work or professional life and competition on that level also plays a part in the end of a good relationship.
