Kajol, who was the lead in YRF's biggest movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLG), has landed in a soup. She would be in a dilemma as going to the premier will not go well with beau and on the other hand years long friendship stands on the other side of her decision.
But only good thing for the actress is that both Ajay Devgan and Shahrukh Khan are taking the matter in good spirits. While SRK stayed clear of the controversy, Devgan told IANS: “The fight is not between Shah Rukh and Ajay Devgn and there is no fight between both of us. This is unnecessarily people has created. Both of us are actors. This is Ajay Devgn as a producer, fighting for his right with some other producer and if people are playing with it then it’s wrong.”
According to Devgan, YRF is arm-twisting people to book the maximum single screens in metropolitans. This however, is not true as the Yash Raj Films announced the release date one year prior to ‘Son of Sardar’. Although the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has rejected Devgan's complaint, the Son of Sardar team has approached the Appellate Tribunal for a review.
Devgan also said that like everyone else he respects the late Yash Chopra and that he has grown up on his films. The Son of Sardar is going to lose out on the opening for sure as it is YRF's best romantic film ever and also late Yash Chopra's best and last work. Initially, whoever was thinking of giving the film a skip, are reconsidering their opinion.
Thus in such hard conditions, Devgan had to do the desperate thing to save the film from being doomed- create a controversy. Now everyone is talking about the big fight. Ask Devgan why they did not change the date of release from November 13 to something else and he gives the lame excuse that all the other producers did not agree.
