India has emerged as the small cars, largest producer. Hyundai Motors, Nissan, Toyota, Volkswagen and Suzuki are the automobile companies which are launching their small cars in India since 1991,and the cars are low-cost and fuel-efficient.

INDIA HAS emerged as the small cars, largest producer. Hyundai Motors, Nissan, Toyota, Volkswagen and Suzuki are the automobile companies which are launching their small cars in India since 1991,and the cars are low-cost and fuel-efficient which has made their base very firm in India. About 240,000 cars are exported from India by the Hyundai Motors in 2008, and now the Nissan Motors is planning to export about 250,000 vehicles manufactured in India in 2011.This shows how much the range of vehicles has increased in India. In September 2009,Ford Motors had announced to plant setup in India and the cars are to be manufactured for both India as well as to export.

This statistic shows increasing range of small cars in India, and to know the reason behind this, firstly we should understand why small cars are better and then we relate it with the attitude of peoples in India for small cars. By doing this we can figure out why the range of small cars is increasing in India.

Now the small cars have benefits such as people feel relaxed in small cars, though few peoples can accommodate. Small cars are very difficult to design with respect to style, thus it looks more functional. They are compact, convenient and attractive. Since engines in small cars are reduced and cautiously created, the fuel economy also gets less which is what the car user wants. While driving and parking, due to small size it gets a lot of space, thus risk of damage, accident just gets decreased. For youth if we consider, small cars are more athletic than large cars. Lastly, the price matters very much. The price of small cars is very less than the large cars.

After knowing all the features of small cars, if we consider the nature and attitude of Indian peoples, small cars favors too much for them than the large cars. Let’s see how it happens:

Now the old days are gone, when peoples had big family. Now there are smaller family in India with parents and the two children. The compact and attractive nature of small cars just attracts all the youth, and youths are the major cause of getting things brought into the family.as fuel economy is less; small car just saves money in the pockets. Lastly driving small car seems little bit a fun and can be accommodated in house easily. And as price is low about 1-5 lakhs, all the peoples in India could afford it.

Hence, we can understand, the increase in craze for smaller cars in India is the reason for increase in automobile industry India.
