Students at the Maharishi Markandeshwar International school gathered on the eve of the 62nd Independence Day to celebrate the occasion. The school held several cultural programs, songs and speeches to mark the occasion.
MAHARISHI MARKANDESHWAR International School, Ambala, held Independence Day celebrations on the eve of 62nd Independence Day amid cheers of parents and distinguished guests. Tarsem Garg, the Chancellor of the university, hoisted the tricolour flag and released pigeons, the symbol of peace. “Our leaders fought very hard and it was through them only that we are living a free existence today. We at MM University took this initiative as a remembrance to their effort and their supreme sacrifice” he said.
The function began with a welcome speech Mrs. Renu Taneja, director, MM International School. All students participated whole heartedly in the celebrations. Even the younger children of the school participated and presented an action song ‘Chanda Chamke’ enthralling onlookers.
Children also presented colourful, cultural programmes on patriotic songs like “Sandeshe Aate Hain” and Vande Mataram. The program was a good blend of various cultural dances, patriotic speeches and songs. The celebrations were followed by the Investiture ceremony in which the names of the school Captains were announced and they were honoured with badges by Sanjeev Garg and Vishal Garg, Vice Chancellors of the university. A vote of thanks was given by Col Hanglem, the chief coordinator.
