The world most corrupt countries are Somalia, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Sudan, Iraq, Chad, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Haiti. New Zealand, Denmark, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland and Netherlands, Australia, and Cannada are the most honest
INDIA HAS improved its position marginally on the global honesty ranking, from 85th last year to 84th this year. The country has scored much than its neighbours, except China which on 79th position.
However, the improvement is no reason to smile as, Our political rulers and bureaucrats are fond of enjoying luxurious ‘study-tours’ on public-expense in ‘national or public’ interest. If they truly wish to do so in public interest, they should go and visit nations like Denmark, Finland or Nerw Zealand, which have been found to be the least corrupt ones.
If the Indian government wishes to induce honesty in the system, there should be provision of death-penalty and life-imprisonment for persons involved in big scams. Properties of the culprits and their near relations should be confiscated. Since currency is the oxygen to corruption, stringent steps may be taken to drastically transform currency circulation in banking transactions in a manner people may find excess currency as ‘paper’ of no practical use!
The world most corrupt countries have been found to be Somalia, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Sudan, Iraq, Chad, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Haiti. On the other hand of the spectrum, New Zealand, Denmark, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland and Netherlands, Australia, Cannada and Ireland remain the least corrupt nations.
