Pakistan entered the finals after they drew their match against India in the round robin phase, where the score read 2- 2, when the finals whistle went off. The Pakistan team just needed a draw, in order to progress to the finals of the competition and they were successful in it.
The Indian team has enjoyed a good run in the competition as they have not lost any of the matches in the competition. But they have drawn as many as 3 matches in the competition, which is a worrying factor. They won two matches in the competition. Pakistan on the other hand won 3 matches, lost one and drew one in the tournament.
Both teams have looked in good shape during the competition. They have been supported well in the stadium. Fans across the border would be very eager to watch the match, as they do not see any competitive matches between these two countries at the highest level.
