India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games: Day 7
After the conclusion of the seventh day of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Moscow, India finished the day with their medals tally reading 10 gold, 19 silver and 12 bronze. India won a total of five medals yesterday and it was primarily the wrestlers who brought fame to the country on the seventh day.
Out of all the events, India has been performing consistently well in Wrestling, winning a number of medals. It was unfortunate for Indian wrestler, Satywart Kadian to walk away with a silver medal after putting up an impressive performance in the gold medal match against Arjun Gill from Canada. In fact, the game was dominated by Kadian initially, only to lose out in the later stages.

There was great hopes from another wrestler, Bajrang who had fought well in the semi-finals to reach the finals of the competition, but faltered in the finals, where the Indian was defeated 12-1 by Canadian opponent Tremblay. She won a silver medal. While yet another wrestler, Lalita lost her gold medal match against Nigerian Adekuoroye, embarrassingly in just 31 seconds.

It was unfortunate for India, as none of the wrestlers could win a single gold medal in spite of coming so close to the elusive gold medal. The same is the case for Sakshi Malik in the women's 58 kg category, who had to remain satisfied with a silver medal performance. India's loss was Nigeria's gain once against, as the Nigerian wrestler walked away with the gold.

On the other hand, in a must-win game for Navjot Kaur, she came up with a good performance to win a bronze medal in the 69 kg category defeating the home favourite Sarah Jones from Scotland. But, all is not over for India, as there are a number of gold medals up for grabs today a swell, where India would fancy their chances in various events.
