India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow: Day 4
India put up yet another emphatic display in the fourth day of the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where they won one gold, two silver and two bronze medal. With this performance, India lies in the fifth position with 22 medals overall.

It was from the field of weightlifting and shooting, where India won its day 4 medals. In fact, it all started from shooting, where Shreyashi Singh won silver in the Women's double trap event, while Asab Mohammed won bronze in the same event in the men's category. Had luck been on their side, they could have landed with the gold medal as well.

But, it was weightlifters on day 4, which brought huge laurels to the country and amongst all the medalist on day 4, it was Satish Sivalingam who made the Indian tri colour flag fly high as he won the gold medal in 77 kg category, while Ravi Katulu had to settle for the silver. This performance of India reflected India's stronghold in the sport.

In the women's category as well, Punam Yadav put up an impressive performance, where she shrugged off strong competition from other competitors to win a bronze medal in the Women's weightlifting 63 kg category.

But, not everything was rosy on Day four for India, as the Indian Badminton and the Table Tennis, teams lost to England, when they were expected to come back with gold or at least silver.
