India has 50-50 chance to win the T20 World Cup: Former Indian Cricketer
ICC T20 World Cup 2014 is one of the most awaited event in the cricket calender, as it is considered to be a championship, jam-packed with entertainment. The competition is scheduled to be hosted by Bangladesh from 14th March with the finals to be played on April 6. India won the tournament in its debut edition in 2007, but it might be difficult for the team to come up with a repeat performance to lift aloft the title in 2014.

Anshuman Gaekwad, former Indian cricketer is not confident that India will win the 2014 T20 World Cup, as he said, ''India has a 50-50 chance of winning the title this time around.'' India's record of late has not been impressive to be referred as favourites.

One look at recent matches, irrespective of the format it is the bowlers, which has let the Indian team down. ''India's bowling is going to be a major worry in the competition. The bowling is not working.'' The Indian team is going to be spearheaded by Mohammed Shami and R Ashwin in the pace and the spin department respectively.

Like the Indian team of the past, men in blue to a large extent have always been dependent on the batsmen to win the game for India. Things do not look any different this time as well. India has a strong batting line up, which includes the likes of Kohli, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Rohit just to name a few. The Indian batsmen must be a confident lot with the championship held in Bangladesh, where the weather and pitch conditions are both similar to that of India.

With Virat Kohli being in superlative form, India would pin their hopes on the dashing batsman from Delhi who has taken the world by storm of late with his batting exploits. Gaekwad further added, ''Virat Kohli will be the most important player for India, if India is to win the title. He is in great batting form and his game is also best suited for the shorter format.''

The player has amassed 587 runs in 21 matches in this format without scoring any ton. But, with Kohli in tremendous form, it would not be surprising, if he scores his first T20 ton in Indian colours in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
