India should expose Pakistan's bluff
On Tuesday, September 19, 2017, American president Donald trump while addressing the UN General Assembly came down heavily on Pakistan without naming it.

He said that those countries who harbour terrorists to operate from their soil to attack neighbours, provide them shelter and finances must be exposed. He also said that America along with other friendly countries will crush these terrorists.

Before this masculine and hard hitting address, US President Trump in August, while unveiling his Afghan policy had directly warned Pakistan that it should not provide shelter to Haqqani network and Taliban operating against US troops in Afghanistan and Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba operating against India, in Kashmir. Trump had threatened Pakistan that if it does nothing against them, US will act against them on its own. This unnerved Pakistan and compelled their foreign minister to run to China, Iran and Turkey to garner support against the US.

After this statement of the American President, China tried to convince the United States that Pakistan had made a lot of sacrifices in its fight against terror and US must go soft on Pakistan. However, with Trump's recent statement, it appears that he's least convinced.

Pakistan has been fanaticising that together along with China and Russia it would form a block against the US and Western powers like the good old days of Cold War. However, what Pakistan forgets is that it's comparatively a very small regional country, while China's aims and ambitions are global. China is not going to allow Pakistan to come in the way of its global vision. As for Russia, due to so many restrictions placed on it by the US & NATO powers, as a result of its taking over Crimea, it is compelled to remain confined in the Chinese camp. How long it will remain there is anybody's guess!

In retaliation to the US especially after a slap to Pakistan by the US President Trump, who refused to meet Pakistani PM Abbasi on the side lines of the current UN Summit, Pakistan, has called off all top level meets between the bureaucrats of both countries.

Pakistan has also come out with a new US policy which it calls, "Three options Tough Diplomatic policy". In this policy, one option is to deny US land route through Pakistan for supplying logistics to its troops operating in Afghanistan. Needless to say that this is a typical Pakistani bluff, as Pakistan has to pay interest of 9 billion dollars on loans it had taken earlier. For this, it had to rush to the American controlled IMF Bank. If Pakistan thinks that China will take on Pakistani debts then Pakistan is sadly mistaken. In the CPEC project of 50 billion dollars, apart from engineers, workers, labour, China is not even sourcing coal and cement from Pakistan, but instead is importing from its own mainland.

India must grab this opportunity with both hands. India should not hesitate to offer to US use of its ports and airports for moving supplies to US troops in Afghanistan. Way back, when US had launched a war on terror that time also the Vajpayee government had offered these facilities to the US. India must isolate and expose Pakistan at all levels. We should never forget that Pakistan read Pakistani army will never allow friendly relations with India.
