The quick but intelligent way in which the US reacted after being confident of Osama's whereabouts should be a lesson for India. India, even after having dreaded terrorists in its jails, is hesitant to take strong action that can act as a deterrent.
INDIA SHOULD learn lessons from the US in its swift operation to kill Osama Bin Laden that any militant attacking a country should be punished at the earliest opportunity without the matter lingering on indefinitely.
When Afzal Guru was held guilty by Supreme Court for the attack on the Indian Parliament, logical justice has still not been meted out. He has still not been punished - with his mercy petition before President of India now pending indefinitely. The same is likely to follow in case of the only living terrorist held for the infamous 26/11 Mumbai attack. All mercy petitions must be finally decided within a time-bound period of a maximum of three months.
For such delay we might have to pay a heavy price. A real-life example was the hijack of an Indian plane a few years back. The Indian government had to release dreaded terrorists as a bargain to free making innocent hostages. The Indian government has missed several opportunities in taking counter-attacking measures when the enemy and terrorists were right in front of them - or even captured. The lesson we can learn frrom the US is that strong and sharp reaction can go a long way in keeping terrorists in check. And that we must act and not spend time in political bargaining.

This is really true. Why do we show mercy on these cruel hearted criminals?? If they are alive, there are chances for a new terrorist group to do something else and blackmail india to release those criminals.
