India to host Global Women's International Networking Conference
There is some good news for corporations and enterprises who seek gender parity at their workplaces. India's ability to educate its women and give them opportunities has been successful in some areas and today millions of women are going into higher education than ever before. As a result, nearly 10% of Indian companies are being run by women as compared to just 3% in United States, according to the Women's International Network (WIN). Interestingly, the IT industry boasts of the fact that women constitute 40% of their workforce.

In order to identify the hidden opportunities that lie for women in a developing country like India, and accelerate the change and participation of women in decision making, entrepreneurship, corporations and in leading communities the Women’s International Networking (WIN) is organising their First Annual Indian Conference from 22nd -23rd February 2013 in New Delhi.

The conference aims to offer participants a 360º vision of their work, their world, and their place in it. From the world and the organization, the conference is infused with networking opportunities and a host of workshops to appeal to anyone looking for personal growth and empowerment. Being held for the first time in India, the WIN India conference will be an event where participants will be updated on emerging trends and the latest on the current global and Indian business environment. The conference will also identify the opportunities that lie ahead for both women and men alike, championing a more inclusive business environment in India and worldwide.

Kristin Engvig, founder and director of WIN (Women International Networking) explains: "WIN promotes and models the values of a global mind-set, authentic contribution and the feminine way of leadership, collaboration and sustainability. The WIN Conference is the most innovative event entirely dedicated to women's leadership and proven to not only develop women in business but also nurture them as individuals."

Seema Kohli, a well-known Indian artist, attended the 2012 Global WIN Conference in Rome, Italy, and is enthusiastic about seeing this event in New Delhi. She says, “In Rome, I was tremendously touched to see 900 participants who all seemed to be in tune, harmony and uplifted in spirit. In a balanced approach, the conference touched each and every aspect of our life, business, relationships, mind and spirit. I feel this is quintessential in bringing about the change we want around us in India."

The WIN conference will witness companies sharing what they are doing to embrace women in business and how women are impacting business models and bottom lines. Participants would get to hear from women achievers whose careers stand out and discover how their courage, perseverance and feminine touch have helped them move ahead, paving the way for others. The event strives to give participants the inner space to (re)evaluate their career and deepen their leadership. It will motivate participants to take the next step, to contribute with your uniqueness where it is most needed.

The conference would give delegates an important networking opportunity with other women leaders, social change makers and entrepreneurs. The conference would help strengthen an organisation’s profile and substance as a women-friendly organization and will help delegates learn how to create a work environment and culture where employees can articulate their needs, feel valued, use their talents and balance work and life.

In addition, the conference is also slated to provide groups of employees with a unique development opportunity, fuelling motivation and inspiration at the workplace along with reinforcing team spirit. Creating goals and action plans in a fruitful environment will also be another hallmark of this unique conference.
