India defeated Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 278 runs to level the 3 match series on the final day of the second Test match.

The hosts were off to a worst possible start today morning, when they lost a wicket on the very first ball of the morning. Resuming at their overnight score of 72/2, Sri Lanka lost the wicket of skipper Angelo Mathews (23), who was caught behind off Umesh Yadav (1-18) in the 22nd over of th innings.
