THE FIFTH ODI between India and
Australia was once again a close encounter with the kangaroos winning the match by 3 runs at Hyderabad. The match went on till the last over but once again in the end it was Ricky Ponting's team, which handled the pressure well and won the match which took them to a lead of 3-2 in the seven match India-
Australia 2009 series. The 5th ODI saw immense pressure on both the teams and Indians were so close to the victory but Sachin's wicket turned things around in Australia's favour.
Sachin hit a swashbuckling 175 runs and reached the milestone of 17000 ODI runs in the previous match. The 6th ODI between India Ausralia will be a day match and will be played at Guwahati. The match is scheduled to start at around 8:30 am as the sun sets early in this part of the country. It is believed that the match may start at 8 am as light fades very fast and by 4 pm it becomes very hard to continue play.
The curator said that the overnight dew would not be a concern for the match to start at 8:30 as they will be using the super soaker to soak up the dew. The pitch will once again be a batting paradise and it expected to last till the 100th over and scoring 300 runs on this pitch is surely on the cards.
The 6th ODI match would be most important for India and they cannnot afford to loose this one. On the other hand,
Australia won't be under any pressure as just one win in the remaining two matches will get them their hands on the trophy.
The latest news is that till now
Australia have no fresh injury in their squad.
Australia has been playing with as many as 7 of their main players being injured and not playing, still they have fought back quite well to stay ahead in the series.
Dhoni said that they were mentally not strong enough and if the Indian bowlers would have restricted the Australians to around 325 then it could have made a world of difference.
All 20,000 tickets have been sold off and the stage is all set to for the 6th ODI match between the confident Australians and disappointed Indians. India really needs to bat, bowl and field well if they want to win this game and take the momentum forward for the 7th ODI (Mumbai), if they want to win the series.
