INDIA GOT off to a good start after winning the toss against Sri Lanka on the first day of the second Test match, being played at Kanpur. Virender Sehwag and Gautam Ghambir played confidently and took the score to 116 in 20.1 overs and are looking set for a big partnership.

Sehwag is playing on 60 runs, studded with boundaries while, Ghambir has made 54 as both turn the heat on the visitors after playing cautiously in the morning. Neither the dew nor early morning conditions helped the pacers, who also did not get any juice from the pitch and now they are facing the brunt of Indian batters.

Earlier, skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat on a pitch, which is expected to crumble on the last two days. The ball is most likely to turn and help the spinners in the later part of the match, a fact which must have prompted the Indian skipper to opt for batting.

India has made two changes in the team and brought in S Sreesanth and Pragyan Ojha in place of Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra respectively.

Team India : Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni(w/c), Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, S Sreesanth, Pragyan Ojha

Team Sri Lanka : Tillakaratne Dilshan, Tharanga Paranavitana, Kumar Sangakkara(c), Mahela Jayawardene, Thilan Samaraweera, Angelo Mathews, Prasanna Jayawardene(w), Muttiah Muralitharan, Chanaka Welegedara, Rangana Herath, Ajantha Mendis
